Job Description
Our logistics and freight forwarding company is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Shipping Operations Officer to join our team in Apapa, Lagos. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient management of all shipping and customs-related processes.
You will be responsible for handling all shipping documentation, managing customs clearance, and overseeing terminal operations. A key part of this role involves liaising effectively with shipping lines, port authorities, and customs officials to ensure timely vessel berthing and container release, thereby preventing costly demurrage charges.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with strong computer skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic port environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle shipping documentation, customs clearance processes, and terminal operations.
- Liaise with shipping lines, NPA, customs, and other port regulatory authorities.
- Monitor vessel berthing schedules, container tracking, and ensure timely release to avoid demurrage.
- Provide real-time operational updates to the unit head and management.
Qualifications
- University or Polytechnic Graduate.
- Highly proficient with computers (MS Office, data entry, and digital communication).
- Previous experience in logistics or shipping is a plus.
- Must reside within close proximity to Apapa, Lagos.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills.
