Job Description

UrbaCon Trading & Contracting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Manager to lead and oversee all planning requirements for their significant projects.

In this critical role, you will guide a team of planning professionals, ensuring strict adherence to contractual schedules and proactively communicating any potential impacts. Your expertise will be vital in developing and implementing effective strategies to mitigate risks and advise on schedule-related challenges.

You will be responsible for producing and managing comprehensive schedules for design, procurement, construction, and completion phases, ensuring full compliance with established planning procedures and contractual obligations. This position requires a keen analytical mind to evaluate project progress, provide accurate forecasts, and coordinate seamlessly with project managers, subcontractors, and relevant authorities.

The ideal candidate will also conduct in-depth analysis of alternative schedules and options to navigate market fluctuations and unforeseen events, thereby enhancing delivery strategies. A strong understanding of HSE initiatives and their integration into project planning is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and advise on managing and delivering town planning functions and responsibilities for the organization’s projects and programs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor best management practices for the delivery and execution of planning commitments.
  • Manage and liaise with the team to create and implement strategies and plans, identifying risks and recommending mitigating actions.
  • Produce and manage schedules for design, procurement, construction, and completion, ensuring compliance with planning procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Evaluate and analyze project progress using status reports to assess performance and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and authorities to update and manage detailed work programs and planning matters.
  • Obtain and analyze progress updates from the planning team to ensure alignment with project schedules.
  • Conduct analysis of alternative schedules and options to address market fluctuations, changes, or unforeseen events, improving delivery strategies.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor schedules and reports, recommending actions to align with the contract schedule.
  • Manage subcontractor schedules in line with baseline/contract schedules and recommend actions to address any schedule slippage.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering
  • Professional degree in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or PMP
  • Minimum 8 years working experience
  • 5 years in a relevant supervisory position
  • 2 years GCC experience is a plus
