Job Description

UrbaCon Trading & Contracting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their esteemed team.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management and successful execution of construction projects from their initial conception through to final completion. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will play a pivotal role in coordinating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to meticulously develop project plans, detailed specifications, and realistic timelines. Your expertise will be vital in supervising all on-site activities, including the strategic scheduling of labor, materials, and equipment to guarantee efficient and seamless project execution.

Proactive identification and mitigation of potential delays, risks, and issues will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented swiftly and effectively. You will also conduct regular, thorough inspections and quality control checks to ensure unwavering compliance with all design specifications and relevant regulatory requirements.

Furthermore, you will be tasked with preparing and meticulously reviewing all essential project documentation, such as contracts, change orders, and progress reports, to maintain accurate and up-to-date project records. Regular, clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams is paramount to provide timely updates on project status, key milestones, and deliverables.

Effective management of project budgets and expenditures, including diligent cost tracking and accurate expense forecasting, will be crucial to meeting financial objectives. You will also be encouraged to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies to enhance overall project delivery and outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Manage project budgets and expenditures, tracking costs and forecasting expenses to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies to enhance project delivery and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness among project teams and subcontractors.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or any related field
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience
  • 5 years of relevant working experience
  • 2 years of GCC experience is a plus
  • In-depth understanding of construction principles, methods, and materials.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address challenges and obstacles encountered during project execution.
  • Leadership skills to effectively manage teams and coordinate construction activities on-site.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
