Job Description

Join AssistRx as a Senior Analyst, NOC, a vital role within our Technical Operations team. You will be instrumental in ensuring our platform remains visible, healthy, and well-understood by engineering, product, and operations teams, as well as the clients who rely on it.

This position involves actively building and maintaining monitoring systems, collaborating with teams across the organization, and ensuring operational intelligence is delivered effectively. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in observability and infrastructure operations, coupled with excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to leveraging AI-assisted tools.

Your responsibilities will include incident detection and first response, investigating system degradations, and producing comprehensive post-incident analyses. You will also engineer and refine monitoring systems, develop insightful dashboards, and identify opportunities to enhance our observability posture. Automation of operational tasks and continuous evolution of AI-assisted workflows are key aspects of this role.

We are looking for a candidate who can produce clear operational reports, track critical metrics, and manage vendor relationships. You will play a key role in researching and investigating failure patterns, mapping system dependencies, and staying ahead of technological changes to proactively flag risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own incident detection and first response for availability, performance, and health alerts across APIs, sites, databases, fax/SFTP/SMS services, and platform services.
  • Investigate degradations and outages, identify scope, surface context, and support resolution teams with clear information.
  • Document incidents and produce post-incident summaries and root cause analyses (RCAs).
  • Create, tune, and maintain alerts that provide necessary signal without excessive noise.
  • Build and refine synthetic probes for production and pre-production environments.
  • Develop dashboards for internal teams and Strategic Account Management to provide actionable platform health visibility.
  • Identify gaps in observability posture and propose solutions.
  • Develop and maintain automation runbooks to reduce manual toil.
  • Contribute to the CI/CD pipeline for operational automation.
  • Continuously evolve AI-assisted workflows as tooling and practices mature.
  • Produce monthly operational reports and platform availability metrics.
  • Track and update KPIs, SLA metrics, and compliance evidence (SOC 2).
  • Manage vendor action items, including certificate renewals and compliance requirements, and communicate status clearly.
  • Share operational context and close feedback loops across teams.
  • Investigate failure patterns (SQL errors, API degradations, service disruptions) and document findings.
  • Map dependencies when onboarding new systems to the NOC.
  • Stay ahead of technology changes affecting the stack and flag risks proactively.

Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure; Azure experience required.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms (Sumo Logic, Azure Monitor, OpsGenie, or comparable).
  • Ability to read and follow automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, or equivalent) — comfortable tracing logic and understanding script functionality.
  • Systems intuition to reason across layers (application, database, network, cloud interactions).
  • Experience with web services and APIs, including diagnosing availability and performance issues.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Jira Service Management for operational workflow and ticket tracking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear operational documentation and communicate effectively during incidents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams with shared ownership and clear accountability.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and operational automation in a cloud environment (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology, specialty pharmacy, or regulated environments (Preferred).
  • Experience with SOC 2 compliance evidence collection or similar compliance frameworks (Preferred).
  • Comfort using and evolving AI-assisted workflows in an operational context (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with SQL Server health monitoring or database observability fundamentals (Preferred).
  • Background in DevOps or SecOps, or experience working closely alongside those disciplines (Preferred).
