Job Description
Gear Up Sports is seeking a motivated Account Representative to drive revenue growth within the Western Region. This role offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary plus commission.
As an Account Representative, you will be instrumental in expanding our business by generating leads through both inbound and outbound efforts, and by meticulously managing all facets of client relationships. Your primary focus will be on proactive engagement with customers, anticipating their needs, and problem-solving to ensure exceptional satisfaction and long-term retention.
You will develop tailored sales assortments and build strong relationships with key decision-makers, customizing solutions to meet their specific objectives. Responsibilities include conducting in-person meetings, managing the entire sales cycle from prospecting to post-delivery follow-up, and consistently meeting monthly and annual sales order goals. Accurate forecasting and diligent management of sales data within our CRM system are crucial.
This position requires a self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively within a high-performing team. You will be expected to maintain the highest levels of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality while demonstrating a willingness to learn about our products and market.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively engage and plan with customers 3-6 months in advance of product in-hand date
- Anticipate & determine customer needs and problem solve to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
- Develop a customer focused directed selling assortment prior to planning sessions with customers for the upcoming season
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers by fully understanding their needs and customizing solutions that align with their objectives.
- Conduct in-person meetings (individual meetings with potential customers, trade shows, industry tournaments/events).
- Grow and service existing accounts while simultaneously prospecting and onboarding new customers.
- Accountable for monthly forecast accuracy of sales orders by customer
- Manage on-boarding of new customers and all steps of the sales and ordering process (inclusive of art proofs, product selection, order processes, follow-up post-delivery, etc.)
- Meet monthly and annual sales order goals
- Analyze reporting and use data to inform decision making
- Prioritize, plan and manage time to complete all selling responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage sales data in CRM system
- Effectively communicate and present our value proposition at all points in the Customer Journey
- Manage competing priorities while always providing an unmatched level of customer service
- Sell our brands and educate customers on our product offerings and services
- Identify and present new ideas for growth opportunities and market expansion
- Provide consistent, concise, accurate and timely communication to all internal and external parties about your customers
- Work with Production/Art teams to create the customer’s vision of their apparel assortment / webstore
- Learn and become adept at using all company and brand systems and processes
- Hands-on building of customer webstores with seasonal apparel selections
- Work with Customer Service to quickly address customer issues
- Travel to events and tradeshows, as needed (generally less than 20%)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 2-3 years of prior B2B/B2C sales experience.
- Strong business acumen (sales, revenue, pricing, forecasting, margin, etc)
- Proven track record of achieving targets/goals/quotas
- Athletic or apparel industry experience a plus.
- Self-starters who are highly motivated, goal-oriented, hardworking and passionate about team sports
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team
- Ability to build and cultivate long-standing customer relationships
- Experience with lead generation techniques and marketing automation software desired
- Possess the ability to create connections with others via all mediums – electronic and in-person
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
- Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity and confidentiality
- Willingness, aptitude and initiative to learn about products, brands, processes, systems and marketplace
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite
- Proficient working in CRM systems required, experience with Hubspot a plus
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet needs of customers and the business inclusive of evenings and weekends
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Viewing computer monitors for extended periods.
- Talking, listening, and typing for extended periods
- Ability to travel
