Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, statutory compliance, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the company's general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and file VAT, WHT, Company Income Tax, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage treasury operations.
  • Develop and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
  • Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Reconcile bank statements and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare management reports and present financial performance to senior management.
  • Support business strategy through financial modeling and risk assessment.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA).
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, and corporate finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
