Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and organized Procurement Assistant to join our dedicated procurement team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with sourcing and purchasing materials, products, equipment, and services.
  • Obtain and compare quotations from different suppliers.
  • Assist in negotiating prices and delivery terms with suppliers.
  • Prepare purchase orders and procurement documentation.
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier and procurement records.
  • Monitor outstanding purchase orders and pending deliveries.
  • Assist in checking received goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Liaise with the warehouse, finance, and other departments regarding procurement requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify reliable suppliers and competitive prices.
  • Assist with supplier evaluation and maintain supplier databases.
  • Prepare procurement reports and documentation as required.
  • Ensure procurement activities are carried out in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other procurement and administrative duties assigned by the Procurement Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of OND/HND/Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to compare prices, quotations, and supplier offers accurately.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work with figures.
  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Must be proactive, responsible, and willing to learn.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, building materials, construction, or industrial products company is an added advantage.
