Job Description

Urbacon Saudi Company is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Engineer to join their dynamic team in Saudi Arabia.

In this critical role, you will be instrumental in overseeing the acquisition of essential technical equipment required for industrial operations. This involves close collaboration with design teams to precisely identify necessary equipment, researching and vetting potential vendors, and managing the ordering process to ensure projects meet all technical specifications.

Your responsibilities will extend to developing and implementing effective procurement management strategies, ensuring maximum value is derived from all purchasing activities. You will cultivate strong, strategic business relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors, providing valuable market insights to inform business decisions and support strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing procurement management strategies and practices to effectively reap maximum value from Procurement.
  • Ensure understanding of strategic business relationships to achieve business plan and strategy.
  • Provide market insights to stakeholders and business units.
  • Collaborate with the team in formulating the strategic plan that captures total procurement value to sustain a competitive edge.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Engage and collaborate with both key internal and external stakeholders to develop strong relationships that will lead to improve service while reducing supply cost and ensure optimal performance.
  • Support the senior functional leaders to establish both short and long-term business objectives.
  • Ensure utilizing expert industry knowledge and advanced business models to develop strategies and structure for business relationships.
  • Ensure clear understanding of measurable goals that challenge Procurement to continuously improve and use financial and quantitative data to manage performance.
  • Assist in the implementation of best practice purchasing policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance and deliver best value and business savings and financial targets.
  • Maintain and update information of suppliers, materials and services that meet business requirements.
  • Upgrade Procurement talent in respective team by the attraction, development and retention of great resources.
  • Provide regular feedback through coaching and mentoring the team to build professional expertise and motivated team responsible for interfacing with internal stakeholders and external third parties.
  • Adhere to the department's long-term cost reduction and value improvement plans for specific spend areas.
  • Ensure utilizing all economies of scale and best practices to win local battles.
  • Communicate the supply strategy and its implications, to inform and align the respective stakeholders.
  • Interact on an executive/managerial level within and outside the business to ensure cross alignment in the spirit of long-term partnership.
  • Contribute in leading the delivery of the savings and operating cash flow program in his/her Categories, Cluster and/or Business Unit.
  • Make timely decisions, balancing analysis with decisiveness.
  • Develop and make use of competitive insights to shape strategies that counter competitive threats.
  • Effectively engage in maintaining all external networks, and continuously builds alliances that will enhance Business’ competitive advantage.
  • Removes organizational barriers to delivering exceptional internal and/or external customer service.
  • Practices role model behavior aligned with the operating framework.
  • Responsible to manage and optimize the financial and budgetary requirements as required.
  • Identifies metrics, tools and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities and efficiencies.
  • Evaluates the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
  • Drives continuous improvement, work simplification and the elimination of non-value-added work.
  • Drives operational excellence in strategic sourcing.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in engineering principles and technical specifications to understand project requirements and effectively communicate with suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier proposals, assess technical compliance, and identify cost-effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and regulations to ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Excellent negotiation abilities to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers while maintaining quality standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement to be successful in this role.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience.
  • 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or any related field.
  • Professional Qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics related course or any Related Technical Certificates.
