- Identify and pursue newsletter swap and cross-promotion partnerships with complementary audiences.
- Develop and manage an affiliate and ambassador program, transforming readers into recruiters.
- Secure podcast appearances, media mentions, and guest editorial placements.
- Build relationships with creators, influencers, and community leaders who already engage our target audience.
- Source and negotiate co-marketing partnerships with brands, tools, and platforms aligned with our readers' interests.
- Develop lead magnets, free resources, and tools designed to convert visitors into subscribers.
- Identify viral content formats and angles that drive sharing and organic reach.
- Repurpose newsletter content across platforms like LinkedIn, X, Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok to generate inbound traffic.
- Write or brief compelling landing page copy that achieves high conversion rates for organic visitors.
- Build a comprehensive SEO content strategy to generate compounding inbound traffic over time.
- Design and optimize subscriber referral programs using platforms like SparkLoop, Beehiiv Boosts, or custom solutions.
- Identify critical moments in the subscriber journey where readers are most inclined to share content.
- Test various referral incentives, mechanics, and messaging to maximize word-of-mouth growth.
- Track viral coefficient and systematically engineer improvements to it.
- Identify and engage with online communities (e.g., Reddit, Facebook Groups, Discord, Slack) where our audience resides.
- Develop a genuine presence and contribution strategy within these communities, focused on providing value.
- Explore webinars, Twitter Spaces, and live events as effective subscriber acquisition and retention tools.
- Build relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets to secure earned media and press coverage.
- Report weekly on key growth metrics, channel performance, and upcoming strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in growth, content marketing, or audience development.
- Demonstrated success in growing an audience, community, newsletter, or media brand without primary reliance on paid advertising.
- Exceptional writing skills, capable of crafting effective pitches, partnership emails, landing pages, and social posts.
- Proven resourcefulness and a 'scrappy' approach, having built successful initiatives with limited budgets.
- Relationship-driven, with the ability to conduct cold outreach, build rapport, and finalize partnerships.
- Strong analytical capabilities, adept at identifying effective strategies and knowing when to pivot.
- A deep interest in stocks, DeFi, financial markets, cryptocurrency, and general finance (Bonus).
- Experience in running or growing a newsletter in any niche (Bonus).
- Familiarity with referral platforms such as SparkLoop, Beehiiv Boosts, or ReferralHero (Bonus).
- Experience with SEO and content-led growth strategies (Bonus).
- A background in financial media, investing, fintech, or personal finance content (Bonus).
- Existing relationships with creators, podcasters, or newsletters within the finance or business space (Bonus).
- Familiarity with newsletter platforms like Beehiiv, ConvertKit, or Kit (Bonus).
- Ability to think in systems, building compounding growth mechanisms rather than one-off tactics.
- Strong opinions on what constitutes shareable content.
- An obsessive reader of newsletters, keenly observing market trends and successful strategies.
- Proficiency in writing cold partnership emails that consistently generate responses.
- A clear understanding of the distinction between vanity metrics and truly impactful numbers.
- Demonstrated experience in growing a digital asset such as a newsletter, community, social account, or blog.
