Job Description
Online Education Services (OES) is seeking a meticulous Payroll Officer to join their Finance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for a diverse workforce, including remote and global employees.
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations, maintaining accurate employee records, and handling complex payroll scenarios. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll for 1,500 employees (office and remote workforce)
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations including PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax
- Maintain accurate employee payroll, leave, and employment records
- Manage and enhance spreadsheet-based payroll allocation processes
- Assist with month-end activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Respond to payroll queries and provide accurate advice to stakeholders
- Handle complex payroll scenarios (e.g., awards, back-pay, global workforce arrangements)
- Support process improvements and system initiatives
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Demonstrated experience using a payroll systems
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, complex spreadsheets)
- Experience in complex payroll environments (multi-award, casual/permanent workforce, variable hours)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
