About the Company
Job Description
LEAP Legal Software, a leading global provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions, is seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join its expanding LEAP Dev team. As part of ATI Global, a prominent international LegalTech company, LEAP has a 30-year legacy of innovation, committed to enhancing productivity for legal professionals worldwide.
This role is ideal for a Quality Engineer who champions quality as an inherent outcome, not merely a final stage. You will play a crucial part in embedding quality from the initial design phase, developing robust defect prevention strategies, and ensuring confident, continuous software delivery.
As a Quality Engineer, you will own the quality across the entire software lifecycle. This involves close collaboration with developers and product teams, shifting testing left, and employing a strategic mix of automated and exploratory testing approaches. Your responsibilities will range from writing automated checks and debugging complex integrations to participating in code reviews, always guided by sound judgment on what, when, and why to test.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute test code alongside the team, adhering to established frameworks and engineering best practices to integrate quality into development.
- Develop and maintain continuous testing (functional and non-functional) and optimize CI/CD pipelines for fast, trustworthy feedback.
- Execute system, integration, regression, and exploratory testing to validate functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Participate in pull-request reviews to uphold code quality and standards, sharing insights with the team.
- Ensure quality visibility by tracking coverage and cases, managing QA work and defects in JIRA, and providing transparent status updates.
- Identify and address friction points within the delivery process to enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Test Engineering, encompassing both automated and manual testing.
- Possession of ISTQB Foundation Level certification or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity in quality engineering, particularly in test automation, with a drive to implement these practices.
- Proficiency in at least one of C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Practical experience with modern automation tooling, including Playwright or Appium, for web and mobile applications.
- A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation design patterns.
- Competence in SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Experience with SaaS and cloud environments, specifically AWS (with opportunities for funded AWS training and certification).
- Familiarity with BDD/TDD methodologies and contemporary testing frameworks.
- Experience in middleware testing and developing mock services for robust, isolated test scenarios.
- Comfortable with distributed source control and session-based exploratory testing.
- Demonstrated clear communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in demanding situations.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, bringing energy, ownership, and a continuous desire for achievement.
- Strong problem-solving instincts coupled with an exceptional eye for detail.
Benefits & Perks
- Engage in meaningful work that directly supports lawyers in helping people, solving real-world problems for local law firms.
- Make a significant impact with full trust and autonomy to work on complex projects and drive real change.
- Collaborate with a team of authentic, passionate professionals.
- Join a well-funded, global company that is a leading provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions across multiple countries.
- Benefit from flexible and hybrid working arrangements, with a primary base in Sydney.
- Access extensive career growth opportunities, guided by a founder with over 30 years of legal tech experience.
- Participate in fun social events, celebrations, sports teams, and access sailing/yacht events.
- Prioritize your well-being with an additional paid wellbeing day annually, free gym membership, corporate dental plan, and weekly office massages.
- Work in a new, beautiful office space featuring catered lunch and breakfast weekly, a fully stocked kitchen, and an on-site barista.
- Access the LEAP Home program, designed to support employees in purchasing their primary residence.
