Job Description

Ventus Industrial Partners is seeking a motivated Private Equity Intern to join their dynamic international team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in deal origination and execution within regulated sectors critical to national security.

You will work directly with senior investment staff, conducting in-depth market analysis, supporting financial modeling, and participating in due diligence processes. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a strong foundation in private equity and finance.

The position requires a minimum commitment of 25-30 hours per week and offers a paid remuneration. The internship is remote, with a focus on opportunities within the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research aerospace and defense acquisition targets in the US and Europe, and present findings in Excel or PowerPoint
  • Analyze niche market segments and conduct market mapping
  • Participate in meetings with advisors and industry contacts
  • Assist in the screening of inbound investment opportunities
  • Support financial and commercial due diligence
  • Gain experience of the end-to-end deal process, including legal structuring and due diligence, tax, insurance, environmental etc
  • Assist senior colleagues with financial modelling and preparing investment memoranda
  • Support the senior management of portfolio companies with business analysis and implementation of value creation initiatives

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or final year student at a leading Business School or University. Master’s students in their penultimate year of a two-year programme will also be considered
  • Prior experience within private equity, investment banking or consulting is preferred
  • Outstanding analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Strong and creative research skills
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • High level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Pro-active and self-motivated, with a positive approach to work
  • Exemplary writing and communication skills
  • Organised self-starter who has an ability to learn quickly
