Job Description

Jelks Law is seeking a highly detail-oriented Global Legal Assistant to join our remote team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our estate planning processes.

You will be responsible for providing essential administrative support, acting as a vital 'second set of eyes' on critical legal documents such as trusts and wills, and managing file closures to maintain compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide essential administrative support to paralegals and intake coordinators.
  • Act as the second set of eyes on major legal documents (trusts, wills, powers of attorney) to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure timely closing and archival of files, maintaining clarity and order within the firm’s systems.
  • Facilitate document preparation and drafting assistance for paralegals.
  • Support the intake coordinator with backend administrative tasks.
  • Communicate urgent items via Google Chat and document non-urgent updates in Clio messages.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of accuracy in reviewing and preparing legal documents.
  • Strong reading comprehension and the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
  • Ability to utilize available resources to independently solve challenges before escalating issues.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Clio, Google Suite, and Microsoft Word, with a readiness to learn new technologies.
  • Demonstrated intrinsic motivation and a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
