Job Description

British American Tobacco (BAT) is seeking a motivated Junior Team Lead to join their dynamic operations team in Ibadan, Nigeria.

This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of production processes, maintaining product quality, and adhering to best practices within a Making and Packing Machine combination. You will be instrumental in meeting daily production targets, upholding quality specifications, and managing operational costs effectively within a safe and hygienic environment.

As a Junior Team Lead, you will oversee daily production volumes, ensure machine availability, and maintain set quality parameters. You will also be responsible for staff compliance with EHS standards, managing material supply, and planning development programs for your team. Effective communication among team members and with all partners is key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily production targets are met in terms of volume and brand mix, and machine availability meets set targets for machine uptime.
  • Ensure set quality parameters are maintained during manufacturing and staff compliance with EHS standards.
  • Ensure the supply of materials from supporting departments for processing.
  • Plan and implement development programs for subordinates.
  • Ensure operational records are kept and other administrative tasks are attended to.
  • Operate within agreed budgets.
  • Ensure adequate communication among team members and with all partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering and maximum 2-3 years’ experience.
  • HND or solid relevant experience.
  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in Excel and other computer-related systems.
