Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and organized Program Coordinator to join the Sola Lawal Education Foundation (SLEF). In this pivotal role, you will be the primary point of contact, ensuring the smooth operation of our scholarship and mentorship programs. Your efforts will directly contribute to fostering strong connections between mentors and scholars, providing essential support services, and maintaining robust accountability systems.
This position is crucial for bridging the gap between our valuable mentors and the students they guide. You will be responsible for coordinating all program activities, from initial outreach and database management to event organization and detailed record-keeping. Your success will be measured by the strength of mentor-scholar relationships, the effective delivery of program services, and the positive outcomes achieved by our scholars.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between mentors and scholars, actively fostering strong connections.
- Conduct regular check-ins with scholars and mentors to monitor engagement and relationship quality.
- Facilitate effective communication among mentors, scholars, and stakeholders.
- Research and develop a comprehensive database of potential mentors, aligning with industry trends and scholar needs.
- Identify and recruit professionals for mentorship opportunities.
- Maintain and update detailed mentor profiles and areas of expertise.
- Coordinate all foundation programs, including scholarship applications, selection processes, and disbursements.
- Organize mentorship sessions, workshops, and program events.
- Manage program schedules and ensure seamless implementation of activities.
- Implement a structured documentation system for scholars to track academic performance, attendance, mentor meetings, and milestones.
- Provide support to scholars regarding program requirements, available resources, and tuition-related matters.
- Track scholarship applications, payments, and student records diligently.
- Maintain accurate daily and weekly records of scholar activities, mentor interactions, and program outcomes.
- Follow up with scholars for academic progress updates, mentor session attendance, and feedback.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on program activities, scholar outcomes, mentor engagement, and overall foundation impact.
- Maintain accurate records of all program activities, participant information, and scholarship disbursements.
- Handle various administrative tasks essential for program operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in program coordination, education, student services, or nonprofit work.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships.
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups, including students, mentors, donors, and professionals.
- Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills and the capacity to create effective tracking systems.
- Strong written communication skills for report writing and general correspondence.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in research to identify and recruit potential mentors across various industries.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and effectively bridging communication gaps.
- Demonstrated empathy and a genuine passion for education and youth development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets, and various communication tools.
- Experience with student mentorship or scholarship programs is considered an advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment interacting with students and professionals.
- Self-motivated with the capability to design and implement accountability systems.
