Job Description
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking three dedicated Project Officers to join their team and drive impactful change within agricultural value chains. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to improving productivity, quality, and traceability across priority value chains.
In this role, you will be instrumental in coordinating farmer clusters, input suppliers, and processors. You will work collaboratively to implement program interventions, facilitate crucial linkages between various stakeholders, and conduct assessments to identify growth opportunities and leverage points for private sector involvement.
A key aspect of this position involves promoting the adoption of digital traceability and monitoring tools to enhance data-driven management. You will also be responsible for facilitating enterprise capacity building and supporting youth cooperatives in adopting best practices for sustainable growth.
This is a two-year fixed-term contract position, contingent upon securing the award and funding availability. Successful candidates will be based in either Ibadan, Benue, or Kaduna.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of program value-chain interventions across assigned states, ensuring coherence with national and zonal strategies.
- Facilitate linkages among farmers, aggregators, processors, logistics providers, and markets to strengthen vertical and horizontal integration.
- Conduct value-chain and market systems assessments to identify gaps, leverage points, and opportunities for private-sector participation.
- Promote use of digital traceability and monitoring tools to strengthen data-driven management of production and market activities.
- Facilitate enterprise capacity building in production, processing, financial management, and market access.
- Support the training of youth cooperatives on good agronomic and manufacturing practices, financial literacy, and enterprise sustainability.
- Oversee all administrative aspects of the implementation including budgeting, procurement supporting with the drafting of agreements and contracts and logistical arrangements within ethical and procurement standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience working in agricultural value-chain development, agribusiness, livelihoods, or market systems programming.
- Proven experience engaging farmer cooperatives, MSMEs, and private-sector actors to strengthen production, processing, and market linkages.
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple priorities within the assigned states.
- Excellent facilitation and administrative support skills.
- Operating with integrity and accountability.
