Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior HR Business Partner to join our international team and drive strategic people initiatives.
This role demands a strong commercial acumen and exceptional stakeholder management skills. You will translate business strategy into actionable HR plans, focusing on enhancing performance, leadership capabilities, and overall organizational effectiveness. You will coach leaders, drive talent planning, manage complex employee relations cases, and utilize data insights to diagnose organizational issues and recommend practical solutions. Collaboration with Talent Acquisition, Rewards, and People Operations is key to ensuring a unified employee experience. You will also lead annual HR cycles, ensuring local practices align with employment legislation and Optasia's values.
Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and leaders within your designated region.
- Act as a strategic partner to identify and address business-specific people needs.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders to develop and implement people strategies aligned with growth priorities, organizational design, and workforce plans.
- Provide expert guidance and coaching on performance, engagement, talent planning, succession, team effectiveness, change management, and employee relations.
- Utilize people data and business insights to identify trends, diagnose organizational issues, and propose actionable improvements for retention, productivity, and leadership capability.
- Support leaders through organizational changes, including restructures, operating model adjustments, and communication planning.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Rewards, Payroll, and People Operations to ensure seamless delivery of HR processes and a consistent employee experience.
- Coach and challenge managers to enhance decision-making, leadership behaviors, and people management practices.
- Lead annual HR cycles such as performance reviews, talent reviews, promotions, workforce planning, and compensation discussions.
- Ensure local HR practices comply with employment legislation, internal policies, and Optasia's values.
- Drive continuous improvement of HR team frameworks, policies, and manager enablement tools for international scalability.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of HR experience, with a minimum of 4 years in dedicated HR Business Partnering roles within high-growth, international technology-led or fintech environments across Africa and Asia.
- Extensive experience managing complex employee relations cases across Africa and Asia.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making through credibility, insight, and sound judgment.
- Experience operating across multiple countries, with a working knowledge of employment practices and people risk in relevant markets.
- Strong capabilities in organization design, leadership development, change management, performance management, employee relations, and leadership coaching.
- Proven experience designing and facilitating training for managers and employees.
- A data-driven, people-centric, and business-oriented approach to solving workforce and organizational challenges.
- Experience in a dynamic, complex business environment with a focus on multiculturalism and internationalism.
- Ability to quickly build trust with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners.
- Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills with high levels of professionalism and integrity.
- Excellent planning and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
