Job Description

SCCD Training is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in education partnerships and recruitment across the UK.

This pivotal role involves identifying and securing new school partnerships, creating robust placement pipelines for trainees, and facilitating the transition of educators into permanent roles. You will be instrumental in negotiating sponsorship agreements and aligning SCCD's programs with the evolving needs of the education sector.

As a leader, you will manage and mentor the sales and placement teams, setting clear performance indicators and ensuring the successful achievement of collective revenue and placement targets. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining SCCD's position as a preferred partner for educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically identify and engage with Headteachers, Trusts, and School Business Managers to secure new partnerships.
  • Create consistent placement opportunities for trainees by mapping their skills to school vacancies.
  • Place qualified trainees and teachers into long-term or permanent roles, ensuring a high conversion-to-employment rate.
  • Negotiate and finalize sponsorship agreements with schools and educational bodies.
  • Work closely with the recruitment team to ensure optimal trainee placement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Local Authorities and regional education councils.
  • Stay informed about Ofsted requirements and Department for Education (DfE) policy changes.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale the Sales and Placement teams.
  • Set and monitor rigorous targets for school visits, signed SLAs, and learner placements.
  • Deliver clear forecasts on the partnership pipeline and placement success rates.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience specifically within Education Recruitment or School Business Development.
  • Proven track record of cold-calling, pitching to Headteachers, and closing multi-year SLAs.
  • Deep understanding of the classroom environment and school recruitment needs.
  • Experience managing a team and driving them toward collective revenue and placement targets.
  • Familiarity with how schools interact with councils and funding bodies is highly desirable.
