Job Description
AG Barr is seeking a driven On Trade - Regional Business Development Manager to spearhead growth across the North East and York regions. This field-based, permanent role is crucial for expanding the distribution of market-leading products from brands like FUNKIN Cocktails, Frobishers, Rubicon, Bundaberg, and Irn-Bru within key regional and multi-site accounts, including prestigious bars, restaurants, and hotel chains.
In this capacity, you will be instrumental in developing and executing joint business plans, identifying new stockists, and negotiating commercial terms. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the supply chain to ensure product availability, executing impactful promotional campaigns, and overseeing trade investment budgets to maintain profitability. You will leverage category data and consumer insights to inform sales strategies and build strong, long-term partnerships with customers and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in FMCG or strategic sales, with a preference for UK On-Trade drinks industry knowledge. A proven ability to exceed challenging sales targets, particularly in new business acquisition, is essential. Strong IT proficiency, comfort with sales data, budget management, and excellent organizational and communication skills are required. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new and develop existing distribution of AG Barr portfolio products in Key Regional and multi-Site Operating accounts within an assigned territory.
- Develop mutual growth strategies with key customers through Joint Business Plans (JBPs).
- Identify and secure new stockists while negotiating commercial terms that protect profit margins.
- Manage the end-to-end flow of stock from factory to store shelf to ensure product availability.
- Execute promotional campaigns and seasonal "big bets" for high visibility and "point of purchase" awareness.
- Manage promotional and trade investment budgets to ensure profitability.
- Utilize category data and consumer insights to influence customers and optimize sales performance.
- Build long-term partnerships with buyers, marketing teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Handle administrative duties, internal communications, and account reviews.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in FMCG or strategic sales, preferably Key Account Management.
- Direct experience within the UK/Local On-Trade drinks industry and cocktails is preferred but not essential (e.g. spirits, beer, wine, soft drinks).
- Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding challenging sales targets with a particular focus on New Business.
- Excellent IT skills (Google Suite, Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
- Comfortable working with sales data and managing budgets.
- Highly organised.
- Developed communication skills (especially remotely).
